NAVSTAR (NAVigation by Satellite Timing and Ranging). The U.S.-based global navigation satellite system was funded by taxpayers and controlled by the DOD.
NEAR-INFRAED (NIR). The near-infrared (red), green (blue), and red (green) wavelengths are useful for observing changes in plant health.
NORMALIZED DIFFERENCE VEGETATION INDEX (NDVI). Normalized Difference Vegetation Index is the ratio of the difference between the red and near-infrared bands divided by their sum used to identify and enhance the vegetation contribution in a digital remote sensing analysis; a simple graphical indicator that can be used to analyze remote sensing measurements and assess whether the target being observed contains live green vegetation or not.
